Sestito played in 14 games with the Flyers last season registering 83 penalty minutes, 37 hits and one assist while averaging 6:53 of ice time.
The 24-year old forward missed the final 25 games of the regular season as well as all 11 games in the postseason after sustaining a groin injury against the Buffalo Sabres in mid-February that required surgery.
Since being drafted with the No. 85 overall pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets, the 6-foot-5, 228 pound tough guy has played in 27 games in the NHL, registering two goals and three assists for five points (in addition to 147 penalty minutes).
Philadelphia acquired Sestito at the trade deadline in 2011 by trading forwards Greg Moore and Michael Chaput to the Blue Jackets.
