Shane Doan To Visit Philadelphia Flyers On Saturday, According To Report

According to John Gambadoro of Sports Talk Radio 620 KTAR in Phoenix, unrestricted free agent Shane Doan will be visiting with the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.

The visit will be Doan’s second of free agency as he reportedly met with the New York Rangers front office on Friday.

This report substantiates the claim made by 610 WIP radio host Glen Macnow, who cited a source saying that the Flyers had already extended an offer to the Phoenix Coyotes captain.

The 35-year old winger was drafted with the No. 7 overall selection in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft by the original Winnipeg Jets and is the only player that has remained with the franchise since their relocation to Phoenix in 1996, spending his entire NHL career with the organization.

By all accounts, Doan wishes to remain with the Coyotes but due to the ownership uncertainty surrounding the club, he may have to take his services elsewhere.

Early reports have stated that Doan is looking to sign a four-year contract and several teams are believed to be interested in his services, which reportedly include the Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins and San Jose Sharks.
