Scott Hartnell named to All-Star game

Hartnell down is going up to Ottawa.

On Tuesday morning, TSN insider Bob McKenzie announced that Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews was going to be unable to attend the NHL All-Star game due to an injury.

Scott Hartnell will be filling in the vacant roster space.

The honor is well deserved; Hartnell is the Flyers leading goal scorer and is second on the team in total points.

With 25 goals, 19 assists and 44 points in only 47 games, Hartnell is on pace to break career highs in each offensive statistical category.

He will join Claude Giroux, Kimmo Timonen, Matt Read and Sean Couturier as the Flyers representatives.
