Ryan Suter Has No Interest In Signing With An Eastern Conference Team, According To Report
According to a report filed by Tim Panaccio of Comcast Sportsnet Philadelphia, pending-unrestricted free agent Ryan Suter has no interest in signing with an Eastern Conference team.
It has been reported by several outlets that the Philadelphia Flyers have had serious interest in pursuing Suter in order to upgrade their defense corps.
Now it appears they will be unable to do that.
According to a well-placed source, Suter has a potential list of clubs he would be willing to talk to even if his rights were traded before July 1. Suter is represented by Neil Sheehy.
Alas, the Flyers are not one of them.
In fact, the source said, all of Suter’s preferred destinations, should he leave the Predators, are in the Western Conference – not the East.
Detroit is generally conceded to be his top choice.
Panaccio goes on to say that Nashville general manager David Poile has refused to entertain any offers to aquire the negotiation rights of Suter or the rights of restricted free agent Shea Weber, both of which are consdiered two of the best defensemen in the NHL and have been rumored as pieces the Flyers have had interest in adding.
In the report, Panaccio goes on to say that Poile will likely have to do something with Suter at or before the NHL Draft, which begins next Friday (June 22).
