Rick Nash Rumors: Philadelphia Flyers Out With CBJ; Offer Huge Deals To Zach Parise, Ryan Suter, According To Reports
According to TSN insider Darren Dreger, the Philadelphia Flyers are no longer engaging in discussions with the Columbus Blue Jackets for the services of star forward Rick Nash.
This comes in contrast with the report from Saturday that the two teams were engaging in serious negotiations about completing a trade.
However, Dreger also mentioned that the team has submitted substantial offers to both Ryan Suter and Zach Parise, the two biggest players in this year’s free agency class.
Flyers submitted big bids on both Parise and Suter. For the moment, Philly appears to be out on Nash. Things can change quickly.

Several reports have the numbers varying but the length of the offers are expected to be in the range of 10-to-12-years with estimated amounts of $80-to-$100 million.
While the numbers may seem far too large for the Flyers salary cap situation, Tyler Altemose of The Hockey Guys stated that the annual cap-hit of a deal of that length would be a manageable number for the team.
12-years, $80M ($6.67AAV) offers for Suter/Parise within #Flyers offseason cap limitations.

Obviously, this is a fluid situation that changes faster than it can be updated.
If the Flyers aren’t in on Nash right now, it doesn’t mean they won’t be rumored to be in on him in two hours.
This is the nature of this time of year, especially considering that the Flyers are apparently attempting to make adjustments to their roster.
