The New York Rangers have agreed in principale to a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets to acquire disgruntled captain Rick Nash by trading Brandon Dubinsky, Artem Anisimov, Tim Erixon and a first-round draft pick, according to a report by TSN's Darren Dreger.
As of this time, the deal has not yet gone official as the trade hasn't been called into the league.
Dubinsky has three-years remaining on a contract that will count for $4.2 million against the cap until the 2015-16 season, while Anisimov is entering the final year of a deal that counts for $1.875 million against the cap (he will be a restricted free agent next season).
Erixon is a 21-year old prospect who spent last season as a member of the Rangers AHL-affiliate, the Conneticut Whale. He played in 18 games with the Rangers last year registering two assists. He has two-years remaining on his entry-level contract.
In addition to acquiring Nash, the Rangers will also receive a third-round draft pick and a minor-league defenseman, according to a report by the Columbus Dispatch.
