Flyers-Penguins Round 1: Introducing the running blog
This is quite possibly the worst time of year…for the loved ones and employers of NHL hockey fans.
That’s because, as of tonight, the NHL playoffs officially get under way as the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers faceoff at Consol Energy Arena, thus jump starting the most thrilling time of the NHL calendar.
While the world stops for hockey fans, the same cannot be said of everyone else around them.
Unfortunately, there may be times when you will be unable to watch a game because of a job, a date, or even something as silly as a wedding.
Have no fear; we have the fix to your playoff itch.
Starting tonight with Game 1, The Checking Line-Flyers Edition will be covering every phase, of every game that the Flyers are playing in. We plan on doing this by compiling a running blog that will give you updates in real-time.
Obviously any one can go to twitter or facebook to find out the score. What we hope to do with the running blog is to provide you the info behind the most important plays as they happen.
No longer will you be scratching your head when you see everybody on your newsfeed or time line saying things like, “That was the most disgusting goal I’ve ever seen,” or “#Girouxsalem,” or "I hope he's okay :("
Now you will know about everything – regardless of whether you actually saw it.
With every shift more important than the last, TCL-Flyers running blog will give you all the information you need to know.
Also be sure to check out The Checking Line’s live blog, which will provide a live chat for those of you watching tonight’s game.
With a few hours till puck drop, here is some pregame reading to tide you over:
