Game 4 Preview: Flyers / Sabres
The Philadelphia Flyers had the best road record in their franchise history this season and that trend would continue in game 3 in Buffalo's house as the Flyers took the lead in the series 2-1. After two very different games in Philly the Flyers tightened up their defensive play and with an empty net goal by Timonen they took the game 4-2.

The Flyers handled any initial adrenaline rush the Buffalo Sabres would come out with in game 3 playing in front of their home crowd. The Flyers scored a power play goal in the first five minutes giving them the start they needed in a hostile environment.
Although the Flyers have tightened up their defensive play lately, they still need some improvement in another major area. The Flyers need to be more disciplined in their play as they seem to take untimely penalties giving Buffalo a chance to get back into the game. This causes them to surrender the lead more times than not and this was the case in the first period.
Even if the team does not capitalize with the man advantage it undoubtedly gives the Sabres life and a switch in momentum. Coming into this round the Flyers had some things they needed to improve , like the power play and holding the lead.
Their power play connected in game 3 and needs to keep moving forward to be around longer than a round or two. More important is taking care of the lead and that starts with playing disciplined hockey.
Although the Flyers are being out hit so far in this series 93-88 they picked up the hitting a little last game , especially on the penalty kill.
