Flyers Look For Third Straight In Buffalo

The Philadelphia Flyers (15-7-3) limp into Buffalo tonight to take on a banged up Buffalo Sabres (14-11-1) team, the last game on their current four game road trip (2-1).

The Flyers lost the first game of this road trip 2-0 to the Rangers in New York, but won the next two in Anaheim (4-3 OT) and Phoenix (4-2) respectively.

Philly comes into tonight's game with the top road record in the NHL (9-3-1) and will look to continue their recent success in Buffalo as they are 8-1-2 in their last 11 trips. The Sabres are 1-4-1 in their last six home games.

Matchup

This is the second meeting between these two teams. The Flyers won the first matchup (3-2) scoring all their goals in the first period.

Their power play unit has been firing on all cylinders recently as 5 of their last 8 goals have been scored with the man advantage, helping them maintain their league leading (i3.52) goals per game average.

Buffalo will try to cool down that unit as they are pretty successful killing off penalties ranking eighth in the league with an 86.9% kill rate.

The Sabres almost surrender as many goals per game as they get, they average 2.69 goals per game while allowing 2.62.

Both these teams are banged up and have players that will not be in the line up for tonight's game. Buffalo will be without Jordan Leopold , Paul Gaustad , Mike Webber and possibly Jochen Hecht and Cody McCormick.

The Flyers will be without Chris Pronger, James Van Riemsdyk, Andreas Lilja and are closely monitoring Andre Meszaros and Brayden Schenn from the hits they took in the Phoenix game.

 In The Nets

With the Flyers playing back to back games one would expect Bryzgalov (10-5-2-1) and Bobrovsky (5-2-1)to split these games. At this point the starters have not been announced.

For Buffalo expect Ryan Miller (6-6, 2.78) to get his second start since coming off a concussion he suffered after being hit by Boston's Milan Lucic.

Miller made 32 saves in his first game back versus Nashville leading the Sabres to a 3-2 victory.
