Bryzy Reunion As Phoenix Blows Through Town

The Philadelphia Flyers (10-4-3) return home tonight after a successful three game road trip in which they went 2-0-1.

They will face the Phoenix Coyotes (9-4-3) who are having success playing away from home entering tonight's game 5-1-0 on the road.

This is the first of two meetings between these two teams this season.

In their only matchup last season, the Flyers scored late in the third but ultimately lost in overtime.

In their last ten games the Flyers are 6-2-2; the Coyotes are 7-2-1.

This will be the first time Bryzgalov faces his old team. Surely he will have to fight through some jitters to start the game but hopefully he will be able to compose himself after facing a few shots.

The Flyers (3.82) are scoring just over a goal a game more than the Coyotes (2.81) and are still tops in the league. The Coyotes seem to be getting by just fine without Bryzgalov as Mike Smith has lead this team to the eleventh spot in the league in goals against at 2.44.

The Flyers and Bryzgalov did not start the season as they envisioned; sloppy play in their defensive zone has landed them in the 22nd spot surrendering 2.94 goals per game.

Keep an eye on the special teams tonight especially when the Flyers have the man advantage.

Phoenix ranks 8th in the league (87.3%) on the penalty kill and they will face a Flyers team who ranks 11th in the league (18%) with the man advantage.

Ray Whitney leads the Coyotes in points with 15 (6 goals,9 assists). Radim Vrbata is closely behind Whitney with 13 points (6 goals,7 assists); As well as Shane Doan and Martin Hanzal, who each have 11 points.

In The Nets

Ilya Bryzgalov (7-4-2) will get the start tonight against his former team. He is 4-0-1 and has a 1.80 GAA in his last five starts and will look to stay on that track tonight.

Look for Mike Smith to get the nod for the Phoenix Coyotes. He came to Phoenix to be the starter and had some tough shoes to fill; so far he is 8-2-3 with a 2.19 GAA and a .933 SV%.

14x in the first period, he will then block me during intermission.
Nope, but one of the two will get a 10min misconduct penalty.

How many times will you tweet @Hartsy19 #HartnellDown tonight? - none, mainly out of respect for my pal Seth who invented the meme and killed it the other day.

Will Biznasty and Rinaldo square off tonight? - God I hope so.

Who will be the star of the game? - Bryzy with a shut out would be the obvious choice. Therefor, I'll go with him.

Flyers win, 3-0: Giroux, Simmonds, Jagr.
