Zach Parise Rumors: No Decision Yet for The Free Agent
According to a report from Michael Russo of the Star Tribune, unrestricted free agent Zach Parise has returned to his native Minnesota and has not yet made a decision on where he will sign.
It had been assumed that Parise's decision had been made when it was announced that he would meet with reporters on Monday afternoon. Parise merely told reporters that a decision had not been made and that he would not put a deadline on when he would choose.
The teams rumored to be in the running for Parise are the New Jersey Devils, the Chicago Blackhawks, the Philadelphia Flyers, the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Detroit Red Wings, and his hometown Minnesota Wild.
Parise explained to reporters that the decision he has to make is not an easy one.
"There's a lot of things to factor into it, and I think that's why we're taking our time with the decision. It takes time to make sure you consider everything and you're doing the right thing."
Parise's agent, Don Meehan, said that a decision could come from Parise later on Tuesday. However, Parise says that the decision-making hasn't started.
"We haven't made a timetable or wanted to make a timetable," Parise said. I don't want to put those types of restrictions on anything. You have to do the right research and it's a life-changing decision."
The hockey world is anxiously awaiting Parise's decision, as well as that of fellow unrestricted free agent Ryan Suter, who has also been linked to the Flyers.
