Source: Couturier to stay with Flyers
The Flyers are eight games into their season and the fate of Sean Couturier has been looming.
CSN's Tim Panaccio said that sources confirmed that the 18-year-old center will stay with the Flyers and not be sent to the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Once Couturier plays 11 games, it will count as a full season towards his three-year entry level contract. This means the Flyers are set on having the rookie play the entire season with the big club, or as long as he is playing at an NHL level on a night-to-night basis.
Couturier has two goals and two assists in seven games with the Flyers.
He has had a lot of time on the ice for the penalty kill and has centered the 3rd line for six games. In those six games, the Flyers are 5-0-1 with Couturier centering that line.
