The Flyers are up 3-0 and don’t look to be slowing down.

Sunday in Philadelphia, the Flyers handed another beating to their rival Penguins.  This time the rookie leading the charge was Matt Read, as the Flyers won 8-4 (TCL Flyers).  He was just one of the many rookies playing like seasoned vets (SBNation Philly) and being the best in the league (The Copper and Blue).   Them and Giroux, who is kind of the unnamed captain (Philly.com), have led the way all season.

There was plenty of violence, and there most likely will be disciplinary action because of it.  Arron Asham and James Neal will face hearings for their dirty play during the game (TCL Flyers).  The Pens’ lack of composure is dooming them (The Hockey Guys).

Neal and Asham, along with most of the Penguins team were being thugs.  Not to be biased, but it’s true - there was an intent to injure (Hockey Buzz).  Superstar Sidney Crosby was involved in a bit of it, but he was doing little things such as pushing a glove down the ice.  He’s living up to his reputation given to him by Flyers fans and spread by media and many others in the league (TCL Flyers).

When there wasn’t fighting going on, the Flyers dominated offensively.  Marc-Andre Fleury, after letting up plenty of bad goals, was pulled for the start of the third.  Regardless, he will start the next game, and apparently the next four games according to coach Dan Bylsma (TCL Flyers).  The Flyers are now for sure in the Penguins’ heads (TCL Flyers).  They’re up 3-0 in the series, and no one really expected this (Crimespree Hockey).

There is only one other team that has a 3-0 lead in their series:

The eighth seeded Kings are up 3-0 over the Canucks (NHL.com).  Meanwhile, the Sharks and Blues (NHL.com), along with the Blackhawks and Coyotes (NHL.com), are both tied 1-1.  The Predators won yesterday and have taken a 2-1 lead over the Red Wings (NHL.com).

In the East, the Sens and Rangers (NHL.com) are tied 1-1 just like the Caps and Bruins (NHL.com).  The Devils and Panthers are also tied at 1 (NHL.com).
