Of course as you probably already know, Ilya Bryzgalov has a chip fracture in his foot and will not play Thursday in Toronto.  Jason Bacashihua has been recalled from Adirondack and will backup Bobrovsky vs the Leafs (@David_Strehle).  Kimmo Timonen is also hurt and will not play Thursday.  Marc-Andre Bourdon has also been called up and will play in place of him (@NHLFlyers).  Bourdon is fully healed from after suffering from a concussion in his last stint with the team (CSNPhilly).

Just how serious is Bryzgalov’s injury? There are actually three types of severity for this kind of injury (Orange and Black Pack).  Bobrovsky will be seeing more than what was expected, and it may have a big impact on whether the Flyers reach that 4th spot in the playoffs like they wanted to (CSNPhilly) or stay put at the 5th spot (CSNPhilly).  It may be a good idea to just rest him for the playoffs (Philly.com).  Winning games with two key players out of the lineup will be a late-season test for the Flyers (SBNation Philly).

The Leafs had their playoff hopes completely crushed last night...

X - Clinched Playoff Spot.............* - Division Leader

They lost 3-0 to the ‘Canes and were officially eliminated from the playoffs (NHL.com).  The Panthers extended their Southeast Division lead with a win over the Canadiens in a shootout (NHL.com).  The Capitals are moving farther and farther away from the Panthers, as they lost to the Sabres last night and moved to 9th place, just out of playoff position (NHL.com).

The Devils look to be staying in 6th place.  Their win over the Blackhawks last night (NHL.com) moved them four points ahead of the Senators.  The Rangers also increased their lead in the standings.  They moved three points ahead of the Penguins, as they beat the Wild (NHL.com) and the Pens lost to the Islanders (TCL Isles).  The Bruins were the only other team to pick up two points last night.  They beat the Lightning, 5-2 (NHL.com).
